WSM Featured Alumnus: Virginia Churn

Gigi attended WSM from 2011 - 2021. When asked about her experience at our school, she said,

"The thing I enjoyed most about my time at WSM was the strong sense of community and the bond I formed with both my teachers and classmates throughout the years.

After graduating from WSM in 2021, I moved to Reagan high school. For me, because Montessori was such an important part of my life and had been since I was very young, the transition to public high school was difficult but fairly positive because of the skills I gained while at Montessori.

Currently, I am a Junior at Salem Academy, and play travel volleyball for one of my local clubs. After graduation, my goal is to play volleyball in college while working towards becoming a Montessori teacher, at either the Children's House or Adolescent level.

I think the Montessori experience impacted me the most because it gave me the chance to freely express myself and majorly grow my self-confidence skills in a very safe and caring environment.

Something I would like to say to the WSM community, but the faculty and staff especially, is thank you for making my time at WSM so memorable and playing such a big part in influencing my dream of becoming a Montessori Educator."
