Financial Aid
The Financial Aid program was created to assist families with tuition in the form of need-based grants. The Financial Aid Committee is dedicated to awarding these funds to as many eligible families as possible who desire an authentic Montessori education for their children.
WSM now accepts the Opportunity Scholarship for grades K through 9!

The deadline for submitting the financial aid application is February 10th, 2026 at 11:59 PM.
Submit an Inquiry
The first step in the financial aid process is to submit an inquiry to the Director of Admissions, Tracy Carr, to begin the enrollment process.
2. Fill out an Admissions Application
The application includes a non-refundable $75 application fee.
The application will be accessible once an inquiry has been submitted and processed.
3. Submit a Grant Application
Once an inquiry and application are received, the admissions director will guide you through the enrollment process. Once you have been offered a contract for enrollment, the next step is to submit a financial aid application.
Families seeking financial aid must file an application through the Grant & Aid platform in Blackbaud. Blackbaud provides the Winston-Salem Montessori School with a need-based financial aid analysis service that ensures our process for establishing financial needs adheres to nationally established best practice standards. Submission of the financial aid application requires a non-refundable $55 application fee.
After completing the online application, you will be required to submit your current tax returns for both State and Federal taxes with all schedules and W-2’s.

Applicants for grades K-9 who receive the Opportunity Scholarship are also eligible to apply for tuition assistance through WSM. However, all families applying for tuition assistance for grades K-9 through WSM must also apply for the Opportunity Scholarship. Tuition assistance through WSM will only be awarded once we have received notice of scholarship application and award amounts. If enrolling/returning is contingent upon receiving the NC Opportunity Scholarship and/or WSM financial assistance, an ENROLLMENT extension will be granted. However, the WSM financial aid application is still due by the February 10th deadline. WSM determines need-based awards in light of all funding sources.
WSM treats financial assistance requests confidentially. It is expected that students and their families will do the same.
