How did you discover Winston Salem Montessori?

I had no idea about Montessori until the former Head of School asked me to come work here when Gary was injured. I was the building and grounds coordinator at a different school previously and wanted to work at a private school again.

Why do you love being part of the WSM community?

The way that the staff all work together.

What about WSM attracted you to the school?

I thought it was strange when a chicken came walking out of one of the classrooms at the Adolescent campus! I also noticed when I first came here that all the children seemed happy. That was impressive. The way they teach here was a real eye-opener for me. And when the staff gathered together, I was amazed by the way that that everyone shared and opened up with each other.

What are your credentials?

I was a contractor and still am a cabinet builder. I’ve been in business for 20 years.
