How did you discover Montessori?
While babysitting for a wonderful family that had two kids who attended Montessori. The mother was part of the very first class to graduate from the school and she was also Montessori board president. When I walked into their school for the first time, it felt like a great big hug. Right away I wanted to be apart of this amazing school. I then began subbing and the following year I started working in the Lower El classroom for 2 years, then moved to NC.
Why do you love being a Montessori teacher?
The loving, peaceful environment. The child is able to have freedom of learning and I love being a part of that.
What about WSM attracted you to the school?
When we moved to Clemmons I wanted to continue teaching in Montessori because I had such a great experience at my other school. When I toured WSM it was amazing. I loved the outdoor environment, and the people were warm and inviting.
What are your credentials?
Culinary school at Johnson & Wales University, Norfolk, Virginia. Stay at home mom for 18 years raising 3 kiddos while babysitting which then lead me to teach Montessori for 6 years.
