UE January 2023 Newsletter

by Abigail Parsons

Hello UE Community!

We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season!

The first four months of school were full of activities in the UE community, and the last five months look that way! We will be starting lessons on mindfulness with Ms. Crystal to assist in fully establishing UE as a community that is kind and respectful to all. These lessons will help our class and the entire school and community outside of school.

Ms. Abigail has begun to give lessons on poetry in preparation for our spring event in April. The spring event theme will be based on the idea of a "coffeehouse." Although this preparation is in the early stages, we are already thrilled to see what UE will do during this event!

As mentioned in a past newsletter, Sophia and Maggie will be releasing a monthly newsletter titled "Environment in Print" that will be sent via email to the entire school. Considering the hard work leading up to the civilization fair before the break, the first release date was pushed back to ensure their focus on preparing for that significant event. We proudly announce that the first newsletter will be sent this month! Sophia and Maggie have already been working hard to prepare this first edition, so keep your eyes open for it to arrive in your mailbox soon!

We wrapped up our 2022 semester with our Civilization Fair. It was a wonderful experience to have all our UE families join us to celebrate the hard work of our community this fall. Thanks for joining us for this experience!

Half of the class works to color in the Ishtar Gate. This large replica took everyone's help to complete!

Geography Work

Students work together to label and color all the countries in South America.

Students work on labeling a map of the United States. They are sharing the map of the USA with Eli M. and Isaac who are working on a pin map of the Southern Atlantic region of the United States.
